Rehabilitation of roads in Milnerton, Melkbosstrand, Mamre and Atlantis

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate has begun roadworks in Milnerton, Melkbosstrand, Mamre and Atlantis. The project is scheduled for completion on Tuesday, 27 January 2026, with work taking place from 07:30 to 17:15, Monday to Saturday. In Milnerton, certain roads will require night work on 20 and 21 January 2026 between 19:15 and 05:00.
The roadworks will be carried out along the following road segments:
- Mamre: Enon Street will be resurfaced across its full width.
- Milnerton: Keurboom Road, Lobelia Street, Mimosa Street, Nerina Street, Oleander Street, Graaff Avenue, Marigold Road, Nemesia Road, Oxalis Street, Nemesia Crescent and Marine Drive.
- Melkbosstrand: Amble Way, Gullcry Close, Caperock Close, Springwater Close, Seesprei Close, Waratah Avenue, Strathblane Way, Sybille Road, Newark Street, Teuton Road, Waterloo Road, Wafra Close and Commaille Road.
- Atlantis: William Gourlay Street, Charles Matthews Street, Meermin Road, Klipheuwel Crescent, Kuruman Street, Castle Hill, Honeyvale Road and Kent Crescent.
‘The work being done in these areas includes resurfacing existing asphalt, replacing damaged kerbs and reinstating all road markings. On Honeyvale Road in Atlantis, we will be strengthening the gravel surface and stormwater channels. In Milnerton, more extensive rehabilitation will take place along the arterial route on Marine Drive, near the Woodbridge MyCiTi station.
‘I would like to thank all residents and road users for their patience and cooperation as we work to keep Cape Town moving on safer, improved road surfaces. It is important to note that construction will pause over the festive season from 12 December 2025 and will resume on Monday, 12 January 2026,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
